Advanced Stage Spousal Group Seeks New Members PDF Print E-mail

LIAF is pleased to offer a specialized support group for people whose spouse is in the advanced stages of Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia.  This professionally facilitated support group will provide:

  • A supportive environment to verbalize feelings with  peers.
  • Opportunities to discuss care options and end-of-life concerns.
  • Professional guidance in negotiating the role-changes as a spouse’s dementia progresses.
  • Information and resources for the advanced-stage couple.

A special "thank you" to Dr. Linda Levine-Madori and the NYS Office for the Aging, who  invited members of the LIAF staff to participate in a training in the TTAP Method. The Therapeutic Thematic Arts Programming for Older Adults (TTAP Method©) was developed by two-time fulbright scholar, researcher, author, Dr. Linda Levine-Madori. It was recognized as "Best Practice" approach to training those serving the aging population through the New York State Office of Children and Family Services in conjunction with the Office on Aging.  For more information, visit:
