Advanced Stage Spousal Group Seeks New Members PDF Print E-mail

LIAF is pleased to offer a specialized support group for people whose spouse is in the advanced stages of Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia.  This professionally facilitated support group will provide:

  • A supportive environment to verbalize feelings with  peers.
  • Opportunities to discuss care options and end-of-life concerns.
  • Professional guidance in negotiating the role-changes as a spouse’s dementia progresses.
  • Information and resources for the advanced-stage couple.

New Support Groups Formed!

Long Island Alzheimer’s Foundation is pleased to offer three new support groups for caregivers.

Two of these support groups are specifically for adult children caregivers. One group will meet at 3 PM on Thursday afternoons, while the other session will be conducted on Tuesday evenings at 7 PM.  Both Adult Children Support Groups will meet at LIAF’s Port Washington location.

In addition, LIAF is pleased to partner with Brandywine Assisted Living at the Savoy for a caregiver support group at their Little Neck location.  This group will meet Tuesdays from 3 -4 PM.
